The Scoot

We've been a one car family for almost a year.  It's been part ok and part awful but mostly unavoidable.

The story of our cars goes like this:
Started our move to Kentucky with a newish Toyota truck and an oldish Saturn wagon.  Saturn wagon broke down about an hour from it's new home.  Bought a Honda Civic.  A few weeks later, Keith got a company car.  Truck (and $$ gas tank) sat in driveway.  Sold truck.  Quit job.  Gave back company car.  Moved to Nevada.  The saga of our unsold house.  Borrowed grandpa's caddy.  Caddy breaks down.  Sick of cars.  Gave back caddy.  Mortgage on above mentioned house prevented a replacement.

And so, we survived with our trusty Honda Civic.  Unfortunately, Keith's job has some unpredictable emergencies and all too often the kids and I were cancelling plans and stuck at home while Keith zipped off to take care of broken people.

Of course, the house finally sold and we were more than ready for another car.  However, we couldn't make up our minds on what to get.  We didn't just want a car.  We really want the vansion of our dreams but that's another story for another time and is going to require a little more patience (translation: cash).  So we settled for the next best thing:  A scoot!

I bought a scooter shortly after we were married and LOVED that thing for a few good years.  So economical, and just so stinkin fun to drive!  And Keith's commute isn't very long.  We're only two blocks from his main clinic so he really only needs a ride to the hospital or other clinics about half of the time.  The scooter is the perfect way to zip around cheaply, quickly, and happily while giving us the patience we need for our vansion.

First of all, is this kid cute or what?

Bryce was absolutely in awe of the big delivery truck that pulled up in front of our house.  This little guy LOVES trucks and he had so much fun getting up close and personal.

Unwrapping the surprise:

This reaction ensues every time the scoot comes out.  "Vrrooom, mommy!  Vrroooom daddy!"

The morning commute!

I steal a ride every now and then.  So. Much.  Fun!!!!

You look hot in a helmet! And, are braver than me. Remember Chris Tibbets' little scooter from high school? Remember the one time I tried to drive it and ran into the curb? Yeah? I do. :)
