Going North

We've wanted to visit Canada for YEARS.  I remember going to the Banff film festival waaaay back in my USU days with Keith (before we were married) and talking about how great it would be to visit the Canadian Rockies.  Plus, being a Card and having a town named Cardston in Alberta made me feel like an unaware celebrity.

When Keith's parents left on their mission last summer, Keith gifted his dad a pair of trekking poles and told him we were going to climb Chief Mountain (more on that later) when he got home.  So we set a date on the calendar for shortly after their return to visit the Card homeland as a post-mission reunion.

Keith spent SO many hours prepping the vansion for our longest, most epic road trip yet.  We got down to the wire (literally) on putting the last few things in the van.  The very expensive fridge we bought looked like it was going to be a very expensive ice box the night before our departure as Keith pulled wires and fuses and watched YouTube videos about wonky South African electronics.  And then, with passports in hand, bags packed, and (finally!) a cold fridge full of food, we hit the road.
